A year spent becoming wise. That’s a very interesting concept, one I never thought of.
Of course, I would travel. In all the traveling I’ve done, I’ve learned things I never thought I would. I learned about other cultures, how they think, how free the people are, or not free. Traveling made me aware that there’s another world out there besides the United States.
I would try to contact people I always thought were wise, someone like the Dalai Lama, spend some time studying under him; to try to find the compassion I’ve lost for humankind.
I’d read all the books I haven’t had time to read.
I’d go back to school to learn things I really don’t know much about.
I’d listen to what children have to say. Children say some very intelligent things without realizing what they say is very smart.
I’d ask a lot of questions of people of all races and ages. I’ve learned a few things in my life by listening to people I didn’t think were very educated. I discovered most of them were wiser than me.
I’d be open to anything that came my way, whether it’d be good or bad.
Hopefully, doing all the above would give me wisdom.
