I can’t describe a favorite restaurant I have in the world. I don’t have a favorite restaurant. I’m not one of those types to keep going back to the same restaurant week after week, or month after month.  I’ll usually eat at a place which happens to be near where I am.  Here in Las Vegas, there are  thousands of  restaurants, or it seems there are, but I can’t say I have a favorite.  A lot of restaurants in Las Vegas are owned by corporations.  Most restaurants run by corporations are not well-known for their food.

Some of the restaurants I like  are  not well-known places.  They’re  mom  and pa type of establishments.  Most of these places are small and make very good food.  It’s not grand food, but it’s good food.  It’s made with real meal, real vegetables and they don’t add a lot of soy to whatever food they make, which is true of a lot of  food places today.  I can’t even get real meat in some of those well-known places.  It’s mostly soy.  A lot of mom and pa places  take pride in the food they serve.  They know they’ll be out of business if they don’t.

A  place I’ll always eat  in,  if I happen to be  near their food establishment,  is Tiffany ‘s Cafe, on the Las Vegas strip, 1700 S. Las Vegas Blvd.  It is a restaurant which has been in Las Vegas for over 40 or so years.  The café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It is open 24 hours.  I’ve had some really good breakfasts in Tiffany‘s.  When they serve you eggs, potatoes and toast, you know the potatoes are  fresh and not frozen.  And that’s what I like about Tiffany’s — real food.   Just don’t order the chili, though.  I ordered it once and  was very disappointed.  It seemed to me they got a can of beans, put in some onions and a few spices, warmed it up and served it.  It had the consistency of a Wendy’s chili.  And if you’ve  ever had Wendy’s chili, you know what I’m talking about.

Drew Barrymore made a movie in Tiffany’s.  I remember the restaurant closed for two or three days for the shoot.  There were  movie people all over the place.  And the old Tiffany seats were replaced with new ones.  The name of the movie is “Lucky You“.  I don’t think  anyone saw the movie.  I know I didn’t.  If you ever visit Vegas, eat at Tiffany’s old style café.
